2021 Workshop and Sale

The FAVSD hosted a summer Workshop and Sale June 17-19, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1114 W. University Drive, Denton, Texas. We welcomed over 100 participants per day from the Dallas and Fort Worth African Violet groups. Over 500 African Violets and other Gesneriads were sold.

An unofficial show was held with Senior Master judge Mary Corondan, who debriefed the entrants on their plants. Three workshops were held: “How to Grow African Violets” by Mary Corondan, “Learning about AVSA” by Sue Ramser, and “How to Grow Primulinas” by Ron Davidson.

Sue Ramser was honored for her past service as President of the African Violet Society of America. She was presented with a hand-painted china plate (see photo). On Saturday a potluck luncheon was served, which gave AV friends old and new time to catch up with each other. Attendees came from as far away as Arkansas and Houston, Texas.
